For decades we’ve been working in various positions in both the private- and the public sector. We worked in corporate travel companies, in consulting companies, at the United Nations, at the European Commission, at the OSCE. We lead teams, managed departments, developed people, conducted projects, navigated crisis situations, help global organizations transform to new business technologies, accompanied and supported employees through change.
However, we often felt one aspect missing: a focus on people, a human-centric approach, simply empathy. Many times, we observed lacking leadership, lacking appreciation of people, and prioritizing of profits leading to outcomes, that were far behind the objectives and goal settings. Put in simplest business terms, this was short sighted. Not sustainable. Inefficient. Burning money. Lacking strategy. Frequently we saw people disengaging, leaving their companies, or worse – calling in sick because of mental exhaustion or burnout.
Weirdly enough, these situations motivated us to do better. Boosted by feedback and ideas we received from the people we worked with – colleagues and clients alike. From C-level to people working at an IT helpdesk. They thanked us and showed their genuine appreciation when we simply took time to explain. And time to listen. Took time to provide context. Took the business, consulting, and tech jargon and translated it to “human language”. And their questions were as simple as they were complex:
We thought “What would we do, and what would we do different when starting our own company? And why would people, companies, institutions, and organizations choose us to working with?”
TMG came about because we saw and felt a real need for a different way of doing things in the people-development and consulting world. We believe in keeping things straightforward and human, offering guidance and ideas based on decades of experiences and simply said, common sense. We know that innovation and growth for people and organizations does not need to be complicated: often all that is needed is “just a little nudge”. We enable people in personal and work lives to grow and progress organically, by sharing our knowledge, skills, and hands-on business experiences and methods, leading to lasting successes.
We inspire people to grow organically and reach their potential in their role, function, and objectives. And by doing so, we provide businesses, companies, institutions, and organizations to accomplish their goals, sustainably. We combine and share our know-how with our practical experiences. Yet most important: we do it with empathy.
